They also collaborate with other City departments and local and state agencies to resolve a broad range of concerns. In 2025, they handled over 12,000 cases involving zoning, housing, public nuisance, vacant properties, and abandoned vehicles. They performed over 32,018 inspections, issued over 16,228 citations, and completed 232 abatements in addition to assisting with neighborhood clean-ups, all in their ongoing effort to combat urban blight and improve our neighborhoods. Through their commitment to ongoing training and unwavering dedication, our Code Enforcement Officers are prepared to expertly manage a wide range of situations, demonstrating professionalism, efficiency, and fairness in all their interactions. This commitment to excellence is evident in the remarkably low number of Administrative Hearings, with only 10 occurring throughout the entire year!
