I think it’s hilarious that this little hack caused so much drama 😂 So let’s talk about it: 1️⃣ I ONLY do this with permission. If a bride said no, I’d figure something else out. But with this particular hairstyle, it’s really difficult to keep a veil secure using only the comb. 2️⃣ This won’t work for every veil — especially beaded or lace veils. But when it’s just tulle/fabric sewn onto a comb, you can snip the threads, remove the comb, and the veil stays perfectly intact. The comb can also easily be sewn back on later. 3️⃣ Most hairstyles don’t need this. Usually the little “scoop” method + a few pins works perfectly fine. It completely depends on the comb. The comb in this video was EXTRA wide- the worst kind. 🤪 4️⃣ I got a lot of comments asking why I’m not telling brides what type of veil to buy for their hairstyle… which is funny because most brides buy their veil months before they even hire me 😂 Usually the dress shop pairs one with the dress, they love it, and that’s that. A lot of times they haven’t even decided on a hairstyle yet. 5️⃣ I do always recommend bringing the veil to the trial, but many brides don’t have it yet because it hasn’t shipped. I keep a veil at the salon so we can at least test placement and discuss options. Ultimately I have to work with what I’m given on wedding day 🤷🏼♀️ 6️⃣ “You’re ruining a $1,000 veil!!!” And I agree that’s an insane amount of money for something worn for less than an hour 😂 This is why I LOVE @calilybridal — affordable, lightweight, soft tulle, and their combs are literally the perfect size. No notes. 🙌🏻 (Use code HARLEYC10 on Calily’s website! 💌) 7️⃣ “How do they remove it?” You literally just snip the zip tie and the hairstyle stays intact 🙌🏻 8️⃣ “What if they don’t have scissors?” I always double check that they have scissors and put them in the touch-up kit I provide. If not, I’ll give them mine. 9️⃣ “What if the person who cuts the zip tie is drunk and cuts the hair?” Idk, can’t help you there. Ask your photographer? The zip tie is no where near the actual hair so I’m sure this won’t be problem, even after some drinks 🙃 🔟 Some of y’all will still hate this and that’s okay 😂 But I’m forever grateful for my brides who trust me completely. Love you forever 🫶🏻 #2026bride #2026wedding #weddingtips #weddingveil #hairhack
