During Caleb Flynn’s murder trial, Ashley Flynn’s sister testified about the story Caleb allegedly told the family after Ashley was killed — and the details she says immediately raised questions. Kayla Keyt testified that Caleb claimed he had been sleeping in one of his daughters’ rooms when he heard a loud noise. According to Keyt, Caleb said he eventually went into the bedroom he shared with Ashley, touched her foot in the dark and asked if she was OK before turning on the light. “I will never forget what I saw,” Keyt recalled Caleb telling the family. Keyt said the family initially trusted Caleb because they “loved Caleb so much,” but parts of his story didn’t make sense to her — including why he didn’t see an alleged intruder leaving Ashley’s room and why nothing appeared to have been stolen. “It just didn’t make sense that Ashley herself was targeted,” Keyt testified.
