SummerSlam Night 1 definitely delivered. The story of the night was Oba Femi. Not only did he beat Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell, but Brock’s salute afterward felt like a genuine passing of the torch. Whether that was Brock’s final WWE match or not, it’s a moment fans are going to remember for a long time. CM Punk and Cody Rhodes had a really good main event. I know a lot of people expected a Cody heel turn, but I’m actually fine with WWE holding off. They didn’t rush it just to shock everyone. Nick Aldis impressed way more than I expected against Gunther. Even in a loss, he proved he can still hang at the highest level. Solo Sikoa and LA Knight picked up a huge win, and Solo’s babyface run is already starting to connect with the crowd. That might’ve been one of the biggest surprises of the night. Overall, I thought this was exactly what Night 1 needed to be. Not every finish was unpredictable, but the big moments landed, the crowd was invested, and WWE left plenty to look forward to tonight.
