One thing about me is that I know how to take an L. And not only will I eat the L and the shame and embarrassment behind it — I’ll bounce back. 2024 and 2025 were some of my hardest years to date, but I chose to keep getting back up. I struggled with the thoughts as a teenager. I got my first safety plan in 2020 by my therapist. I disregarded the safety plan and my thoughts turned into intention in 2024. I checked myself into an inpatient program after my second try. There is no shame in asking for additional help. It changed my life. I am better because of it. I think I’m good at running because I’m good at pain. I think I’m good at running because I’m good at tenacity. I think I’m running with TWLOHA because I know what it feels like to have life hit you and keep hitting you. And the feelings of “I don’t want to hurt another person again— the world would be better off— I don’t want to suffer anymore—I’d be missed for maybe a moment, but everyone would continue on—“ is not cowardice. It’s empathy being muddled by a bunch darkness. Which is ironic because some of the brightest lights we love and adore struggle with the most heinous and undeserving experiences life can muster. There is only one you. No one can do anything the way you do it. You can’t be replicated. You’re not filled of sin. You’re not damned. You may not be a fit for everyone, but I do promise you someone needs you and loves you simply because you exist. I love you. You can support my NYC Marathon journey by toggling to my page. 💛
