Welcome to Casa Orgánica, the legendary home by architect Javier Senosiain, in Naucalpan de Juárez, just 45 mins outside of Mexico City. Senosiain is one of Mexico's foremost voices in organic architecture, a practice rooted in the belief that built space and the natural world should be inseparable. Completed in 1984 as his own family residence, Casa Orgánica was conceived from the shape of a peanut shell: two flowing oval spaces, one for living and one for resting, connected by a curved passageway built in ferro-cement. There are no straight lines, no hard edges, just surfaces that shift seamlessly from wall to floor to ceiling. A living green roof makes the house nearly invisible from above.
