Happiness is everything 🙏 💙 That’s what a local Greek taxi driver told me last night, completely shifting my perspective after one of the longest days I’ve had in a while 🚖 Before building our startup, my partners @Stephen O'Hara @Ian and I spent two decades in recruitment. If you know that industry, you know it never sleeps. We burnt out more times than I care to admit, chasing the endless grind. Fast forward to today, Sig-Nexus is here, a safe space platform designed for doctors to solve that exact problem. Our goal is to put everything they need in one simple place to relieve their massive day-to-day stress and help them protect their peace. But sometimes, you need a reminder of what you're actually fighting for. When I got into that taxi last night, I was completely spent. I just wanted to say 'hello mate,' stare out the window in dead silence, and let my brain switch off. 🤫 Instead, we got talking. This man works 12 to 14 hour days, 7 days a week, making roughly €300 a month. By corporate standards, it sounds like the ultimate burnout trap. But he was genuinely, deeply content. He pays his bills. He doesn't obsess over the endless hustle. And most importantly, he protects what matters: every single Friday after school, no matter how tired he is, he takes his daughter to the cinema. He looked at me in the rearview mirror and said: "I am happy. I’ve done this for years." It didn’t make me want to stop working hard. If anything, it reminded me exactly why Stephen, Ian, and I have built Sig-Nexus. You can chase big goals and build massive things, as long as you don't lose the simple, non-negotiable boundaries that actually keep you human along the way. For him, it’s Friday at the cinema.
