My favorite fruit tree will probably always be the mulberry tree It grows fast, fruits young, works in small backyards, large orchards, and even containers, and the fruit tastes like a mix between a raspberry and a blackberry. But what really makes it special is that I can prune it aggressivly to encourage new growth and more harvests. On top of the fruit, it provides shade, biomass for compost, food for chickens and wildlife, and even edible leaves that are commonly used for tea.
