Prichard Colón has died at 33, nearly 11 years after a boxing fight changed his life forever. The Puerto Rican boxer suffered a devastating brain injury during his 2015 bout against Terrel Williams, after being repeatedly hit with illegal punches to the back of the head. Colón collapsed after the fight, underwent emergency brain surgery and spent 221 days in a coma. He was left with severe neurological damage and required around-the-clock care for the rest of his life. His death was announced on Facebook by his father: “I regret to inform you of the passing of my son Prichard from this earthly world, NOW HE IS in a better world.” “I did everything possible to fulfill HIS WISH, HIS DREAM of bringing him ON VACATION to Puerto Rico as much as he desired but COULDN’T.” “Thank you for so many years of love and prayers.
