People keep saying Netflix’s Avatar is a good adaptation because it looks the part. But looking like Avatar isn’t the same as feeling like Avatar. The changes to the characters and pacing stripped away much of what made the original special. Add in the creators leaving over creative differences years before release, and it’s easy to understand why so many longtime fans walked away disappointed.
