Today, at 19 years old, he is actually employed and working on the very site he grew up watching! After years of delays, the project is finally 94% complete, with crews working 24/7. The dam currently holds a massive 33 MILLION cubic meters of water at a depth of 32 meters, and it's expected to hit 52 million cubic meters this year! Originally planned just for drinking water, this massive project will now provide irrigation for over 45,000 residents, supply clean water to Gondar, and create huge opportunities for tourism, urban agriculture, and fishery.
